Inspiration Board: Wild for Wildflowers

Hello again, readers! Y’all, I let life take over a little bit, and I just got busy. I sincerely apologize for my (much longer than anticipated) break from blogging. However, I’ve missed writing about weddings, so I’m back and ready to go yet again.

What have I been up to you ask? Well, I was invited to be involved in a recent photo shoot. It was one of the best and most fun experiences I’ve ever had, and I can’t wait to share more (soon, very soon). With that said, one of my favorite elements of our photo shoot was how we incorporated wildflowers (read: fell completely in love with this detail). I absolutely love the idea of planning a bridal shower or wedding inspired by wildflowers because of the brilliant colors they offer.  As a result, I thought an inspiration board was in order centered around wildflowers no less.

And the photo from our shoot of the bouquets (plus two goofy girls – me & Sarah from Dodeline Design) that inspired this week’s board…

Is anyone else in love with wildflowers? I think they are so perfect for the summer, which just happens to start today. I hope you enjoy the longest day of the year!

Weekly Wedding Favorites

I have to say this has been one of my favorite weeks in a while. I realized that there are certain things that I just love doing, and that I should go after them with all.that.I.have. That certain thing? It’s writing. I really love it, and hearing that other people like and enjoy what I have to say brings me pure joy. A few of my favorite reasons why this week has been awesome…

Favorite Guest Post:

To start off the week, I was the guest blogger on Dodeline Design’s blog! I had a blast writing my post, which was all about Philadelphia. I named my top five things to do in the city (which proved to be difficult!), and I included many personal photos snapped during a couple of my adventures. Check it out right here.

Favorite Registry Finds:

I love wandering through Anthropologie’s Philly flagship store, or any of the brand’s stores for that matter. I am always able to pick out a couple of favorite decor items when I visit, so I thought I would pull together items to add to your registry or purchase as a surprise add-on to a gift for the bride and groom. One of my favorite items that I happened upon is this book  because it would be the perfect gift for a bride who has just announced that she’s engaged.

Favorite Detail:

I had to look closely at this detail when I saw it on Style Me Pretty’s Pinterest page. Those pages are folded to form “I Do.” That takes my folding down the pages of my calendar to count down to summer school activity to a completely different (and way awesome) level. I would love to see something like this on a welcome table at a wedding. See more of the details from the couple’s wedding on Style Me Pretty here.

Favorite Activity:

Although dancing and mingling with guests will keep many completely occupied and having fun for hours, if you happen to be hosting an outdoor wedding, I love the idea of adding in a couple of outdoor games. Ping pong is one of my top picks because it’s fun for kids to play and equally as enjoyable for adults. I love how this couple even added some flair to the table with bunting flags in their wedding’s colors.

Favorite Late Night Snack:

Although I talked all about delicious hometown foods to serve your guests as a late night snack last week (here + here), I just had to include this one from Southern Weddings. S’mores are one of my favorite summertime treats (or anytime really. when there’s chocolate, I’m in), and these look…dare I say…decadent. The couple who served them even went so far as to make homemade marshmellows. With that said, I’ll be right there with you purchasing a bag from the grocery store. : )

I’m going adventuring this weekend, and one of the activities I will be doing is going to my first Phillies game. I’m.SO.excited. Have a great weekend!

Weekly Wedding Favorites

After I pieced together this post, I realized that this week my favorites are…a little random. However, they’re favorites nonetheless! Keep on reading for a fun save-the-date by an equally fun designer, a new take on a “first look,” as well as a Philly event that you really might want to pay a visit to.

Favorite Save-the-Date:

Created by Dodeline Design, this save-the-date is definitely a favorite. I love the idea of creating a timeline highlighting some of the most memorable moments in your relationship. This save-the-date would be perfect for a couple that has dated for a long time. I was also lucky enough to meet Sarah Reed, the oh-so-creative and sweet designer behind it all, this past week. Contact her – you won’t regret it!

Favorite Shoes:

I confessed my love for TOMS (and flats in general!); however, I cannot deny the fact that heals can be so gorgeous. I love the pair pictured above by BHLDN because of the bows. I honestly cannot get enough of them, as well as this post by Ritzy Bee. However, because the price is definitely steep, I also found a couple of much more affordable options. Be sure to look at this pair by Nina and this pair by Lulu Townsend.

Favorite New Idea:

The emotional moment above showcases a father seeing his daughter for the first time in her gown, which also happened to be worn by her mother. It also represents a new take on an already new trend: sharing a “first look” with your dad as apposed to your fiancé. Y’all already know how I feel about “Daughters” by John Mayer. As a result, I was clearly dying when I read this post by Southern Weddings about this trend. It’s surely one to consider if you are feeling more traditional and want to see your fiancé for the first time as you walk down the aisle but still want those first moments in your gown photographed with someone you love.

Favorite Detail:

Oh, lanterns. I happened across this photo on Pinterest (it’s originally from The Knot) this week, and I had to stop what I was doing for a second. Lanterns are so classic and elegant and just beautiful whether they are hanging from trees, lining your aisle, or sitting on your reception tables. They’re a simple detail with a lasting impact.

Favorite Philly Event:

Signals spring, gorgeous creative arrangements, and awesome florists…these are just a couple of the reasons why I love the Philadelphia Flower Show. This awesome event held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center happens to start this weekend, and it runs throughout the entire week. I’ve also heard there is special Wedding Wednesday night for brides. Need I say more? Be sure to check out the Flower Show’s website for more info!

Is anyone heading to the Flower Show this weekend? I hope so! Enjoy your weekend, readers!
