Screams erupt as a rainbow of confetti swirls around Times Square. The glittering Waterford crystal ball slowly descends while the seconds tick down until midnight. It’s New Year’s Eve in New York City, and the energy is electric.
Although confetti will not swirl as a crowd of millions counts down the seconds until the New Year, Times Square will be electric on April 29, 2011. During the week prior, TLC will dedicate all of its programming to the royal wedding with a huge event happening on Friday.
As Prince William and Kate Middleton exchange vows at Westminster Abbey, three lucky couples will walk down the aisle and exchange vows in the middle of Times Square. Each wedding will be broadcast during TLC’s live coverage of the royal wedding.
The only requirement to enter the contest, aside from being engaged of course, is the couple must live close to Manhattan in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Connecticut. Even if you are holding a ceremony later in the year, why not apply to exchange vows in Times Square too? Sometimes two is better than one, especially when you get to feel like royalty in the middle of New York City’s electric center.
